Direct 3D Interaction OR Augmented Reality

It is unbelievable how fast the technology is developed. Months ago I had thoughts about creating 3D interaction using Kinect and 3D vision. Today I have watched the video from Microsoft research team, where they show the way to interact with 3D objects. It is realy fantastic.

First image drawn only with finger

I am back after a long  absence with a new program :)

I have worked on a program which will allow you to control the mouse with only one fingertip, even if your hand is not moving. I have yet some difficulties with the fingertips. The problem is that the fingertips are not stable. They are shaking, even if the hand and fingertips positions are stable in the real world. This problem is caused by the unstable depth image. Now I am trying to find some good algorithm for depth image smoothing.

Before I`ll finish it, I want to show you the first image, which was drawn only by finger.
I have opened MS Point, drew this picture and saved it. All this with one finger.

Microsoft Kinect SDK vs PrimeSense OpenNI

After the release of Microsoft SDK, the FAQ was - "how it differs from OpenNI ?".
I have not tested Microsoft SDK yet, but have read a lot of blogs and watched many videos regarding to it.

I have done that.
Now I am able to recognize fingertips. The program needs some modifications
and corrections, but it works :))

I am near my finnal step

Hi all.
I am now able to recognize the points of my hand contour.

Microsoft Research Demonstrates 3D effect using head tracking.

In this video Microsoft Demonstrates 3D effects without any glasses. They simply use Kinect to track had and some things to show right image to specific person.

Some good tutorials

In my work for hand motion recognition, I have clashed with problems for object`s contour recognition in the image. After some search and after some reading I have found some papers, which can be usefull for you too.

The first paper is describing Edge detecyion algorithm of Canny, known as JFC. You can find it here .
Also there is Source code of this algorithm written in C#. You can find it in codeproject.
The Second paper is BLOB analyses for had and hand detection. You can find it here .
